Day 15 - Bodmin- Hedgerows Make Driving Fun on Saturday, May 18th, 2013

Cornish hedges line both sides of narrow single-track roads in Cornwall. These roads are no wider than the width of a single vehicle. Passing spaces allow a car to pull over to make room for an approaching vehicle to pass.

Often, there is no passing space close enough to pull into. In those cases, one of the cars reverses into the nearest space. Locals drive quickly on these roads because they are familiar with them.  We had several near misses! We often could hear the hedge scraping the left side of our car. At the end of the day. A real ale or a glass of chilled white wine calmed our nerves 8>)
