Day 14 - Seaton - The Jurassic Coast on May 17th, 2013

We had a great idea to change our route to add some stops along Devon's Jurassic Coast.  Little did we know, the coast is not easily visited.  We made it to Lyme Regis.  Wonderful sea coast village.  But crammed with people!  No parking down by the water.  The available parking was way up a hill.  Typical of Devon and Cornwall, one has to park away from the town center, then walk down to the harbor with a significant climb back to the car.  Since we did not have much time, we continued on to the next town in Devon called Seaton.

Seaton is a small town as well, but not nearly as popular as Lyme Regis.  As a result, the town was not swarming with people.  We were able to park right on the Esplanade down by the water.  Took a short walk along the Esplanade.  Took a bunch of pics and headed on toward Cornwall.

Seaton Harbour

The sand is tan and somewhat course compared to North Carolina.

The cliffs are typical of the Jurassic Coast and are made of chalk.  The area including Lyme Regis is well known for fossil hunting.

Finally made it to Bodmin, Cornwall!  Here's a pic of the sunset on our way back to our B&B after supper.
