Day 16 - Boswinger Adventure on Sunday, May 19th, 2013

After seeing Mevagissey, we had some time so we took the back roads back to Bodmin via the coast.  We did not realize that the single-track roads in that area are really narrow!  It was during this drive that I scratched the left front fender on the hedges while avoiding oncoming vehicles.  There were times when we could hear the hedges scraping both sides of our car!

Ring-necked Pheasants were introduced into England from Asia as game for hunters.

Highland Cattle on a seaside pasture.

This one was watching me carefully.

Anyway, we first drove through a village called St. Michael Caerhays.  Neat little place.  Nearby is Caerhays Castle.  While we didn't have the time to explore the castle, we did stop at Porthluney Beach, half of which is part of Caerhays Estate.  Nice beach!  Saw some folks out with their dog on the beach.

We then passed through Boswinger and stopped at Boswinger Beach.  That bit of the road was exceptionally narrow and steep in spots.  The beach was nice though.  Mostly deserted.  Then drove up the hill to Penare.  On the way we encountered a large lorry and had to reverse down hill into someone's driveway.  We were glad it was there!
